Pesticide Compliance Information

Health Canada’s Pesticide Compliance Program (PCP) is responsible for promoting, monitoring and enforcing the Pest Control Products Act (PCPA). The Pesticide application by drones factsheet provides a summary of the federal regulatory requirements applicable to drone use in pest management.

As a drone equipment retailer, if you provide advice and recommendations related to the use of drones for pesticide application, it is key that you are informed about these regulatory requirements.

Providing improper advice, such as recommending the use of a drone to apply a pesticide for which this given application method is not approved by Health Canada, could be considered as false or misleading advertising under the PCPA (subsection 6(7)). When non-compliance with the PCPA is established, Health Canada can take enforcement actions, including administrative monetary penalties.

To help promote compliance with the PCPA, whose primary objective is to protect human health and the environment, we encourage you to share this document with the members of your organization as well as with your clients, when applicable.
